Nightly Skincare Routine

Hi hi! I am coming at you on this lovely Thursday evening with my nightly skincare routine! This routine is something that has taken me FOREVER to perfect but I finally feel like I have things under control. I used to struggle a lot with hormonal acne and now I am actually starting to see some good improvement. To give you some back story, I have very sensitive and very dry skin and all of these products have yet to irritate or dry out my skin.
First up, cleansing oil.
Perfect for taking the day off. I used to use face wipes but all the ones I have tried either didn't take my makeup off well or burned my skin. This is the only oil I have ever tried and I honestly don't think I would try to look for another!
Such a good gentle cleanser. I used to use Cerave until Skincare by Hyram blew it up on TikTok and now it's literally sold out everywhere. The lady at Shoppers said I would have to order it in. Luckily, I think I like this one more! My skin is always left super clean without feeling stripped which is a must when your skin is as dry as mine.
Okay, totally worth the hype. Definitely worth the hefty price tag but if you only use them once or twice a week, it's not as bad. I usually only exfoliate around 3 times a week and when I am not using the peel pads, I always reach for the Farmacy Honeymoon Glow. All of the chemical exfoliating products I have seen are pretty pricey but you don't use them daily so they do last a while! With sensitive, acne-prone skin, I have noticed that physical exfoliants make my skin much more dry and cause breakouts, but that has never happened with either of these chemical ones. Just a tip - if you aren't used to using a chemical exfoliant, make sure you EASE into it. They can be strong and cause irritation if you use them too often, too quickly.
This is a bold statement, but I think that this serum may have been one of the biggest factors in healing my acne. I obviously can't say for sure that this is what helped, but I was watching one of Skincare by Hyram's vids and he mentioned something about cicaful being great for healing and soothing the skin so I went online and this one is the only one that had the highest percentage of cicaful that I could find. It had awesome reviews so I got it, and ever since, my skin has become more clear every day. If you try anything from this list, it is this!! I also think it may be on sale on Amazon rn...
5. AVENE MOISTURIZER
I have two Avene moisturizers I use daily. I typically use the Avene Ultra Rich Moisturizer in the morning, but I also use it at night if I used an exfoliant. It is so thick and hydrating without being heavy. If I chose to skip exfoliating that day, I reach for the Avene Peeling Night Cream. This cream is great for if you want to wake up looking glowy af the next day. Skin tip - make sure you apply your moisturizer to your ear lobes. I know, sounds weird, but think of it.. Your ear lobes will one day get wrinkly too. Honestly, while you're at it bring all of your hydrating products down your neck and onto your chest. We are all about preventative measures over here.
Best oil ever. At least in my opinion! I know some people say it is a little too thick but being someone who has the most dry skin ever, I crave a thick, hydrating face oil. Also perfect for if you want to wake up glowing. My boyfriend says it smells weird but I think he just isn't used to the smell of honey lol.
I always, always, always put this lip mask on before bed. I mean I know it is called a "sleeping" lip mask but I wear it all day every day. Super thick (are we noticing a trend of everything being thick and hydrating) and it smells great. Also a perfect stocking stuffer (I know, it's October, but still) or gift for a girlfriend.
And that is it! I actually posted a lil vid on Tik Tok of me doing my routine with some more tips! Go check it out and make sure to follow (@zzahne) for more while you're at it!
Talk to you later!
