Push Past Fear And Follow Your Passion

After I posted my blog and shared it with the world, I felt a huge relief. I have spent so long going back and forth, wondering when I should publish it or even IF I should publish it. Before I created it, I was even overthinking building the website. All I knew was that I have wanted to do this for a long time but I felt like something was holding me back.

If you are like me, you know what your passions are in life and you know exactly what you would LOVE to do but you are nervous and unsure because deep down, you are thinking of what others may think or say or if you are even capable of doing it all. You end up overthinking the situation and taking a step backwards.

We get so wrapped up in our heads and think there has to be a “right time” or that everything has to be absolutely perfect in order for other people to see it or know about it. I was so hard on myself when I was building this blog due to being a perfectionist. I kept going back and forth, making such small changes that I honestly don’t think would have made a difference in the overall outcome of how it turned out.

I guess what I am trying to get at is that nothing is ever perfect. Putting anything out for other people to see is always going to be scary but if that is what truly makes you happy, then why do other people’s opinions matter? Overcoming a fear you have that is holding you back from pursuing your passions is the best thing you can do for yourself. I guarantee you that once you do the thing that you can’t stop thinking about, you will feel so much happier and proud of yourself. I got such a positive response from posting my blog that I am actually wondering why I didn’t publish it sooner!

If you waited until everything was “perfect” before broadcasting it, then there would be no room to grow. Creating something imperfect allows you to learn so that you can always continue improving. Once you are able to block out the voice in your head that is telling you to do anything besides go for it, you will realize that the only thing that was holding you back was yourself.
